3 weeks

It has already been 3 weeks with little bit and I am pretty sure she has doubled in size ALREADY.  Yesterday on our walk I layed her down in her bassinet in her stroller and she already looks too big for it....is that possible?!?!?!  She is as long as she can be.  I shouldn't be surprised really, this little bit has an appetite like no other.  She could eat all day if I let her.

In Addie's short 3 weeks we have already learned that she is -

  • extremely warm natured....which means she loves to be a naked baby, well, she is in a diaper at least but that is usually it :)
  • LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to eat, seriously an appetite that could put a buffet out of business
  • Loves tummy time, loves to sleep on her tummy, lay on her tummy, she isn't a fan of laying on her back
  • Sleep...yes she sleeps but we have yet to find any type of schedule or consistency of when she sleeps.....Mommy needs to be patient with this.  Some nights are awesome, some nights are not so great.

Overall it has been an awesome 3 weeks with a few ups and downs....way more ups than downs....maybe just a little anxious to be able to say, "remember when we were only sleeping a couple hours at night" :)

Mommy & Addie...Day 1

We survived.....yep, today was the first day for Addie and Mommy to be completely on their own without the help from Daddy or Granny.

Addie did so good, she stuck to her usual......sleep, eat, sleep, eat, eat, sleep some more.  We even ventured out of the house for a walk around the block.  Overall  it was a great day without any breakdowns.

We will see how tomorrow goes, we are taking it one day at a time :)

Happy Anniversary

Adeline Elizabeth Seal

It's been 1 week...yep, little bit has been with us for 1 whole week.

Rewind to a week ago, we entered the hospital on Tuesday night at 5:00.  1 hour later the medicine starts and the contractions are present, woohooo....this shouldn't take long.  Well, next morning...no changes, start the second medicine.  Okay, seriously, by lunch we should have this show on the road, right?!?!  Lunch time comes around and the doc comes by, no changes...really, none?  Addie's heartbeat had been dropping during the contractions since the night before so I had been stuck in the bed with very limited movement.  By this time my hips and back were starting to hurt from laying in the oh so comfortable hospital bed for so long.  By 4:00, we were all getting anxious so the doc came back and broke my water....FINALLY there were going to be some changes, at least that was the plan.  The contractions picked up a notch and staying still in bed was getting a little more difficult as I just wanted to at least stand up.  By 7:00, I couldn't take it anymore and asked for the epidural after 25 hours of contractions laying in that bed.  Close to midnight it was time to start pushing, well at least they thought that it was.  It took over 2 hours with a short break in there somewhere but after 32 hours of labor little Adeline Elizabeth made her grand appearance.    I had no sense of time (luckily) once we started pushing so when they announced her time of birth I was shocked.

We have been home and have plenty of help and visitors.  Everything has been going great.  Addie is an awesome sleeper and eater.   She is such a joy and we have loved every minute of it....so far :)

The ONLY complaint for the first week is the flesh eating rash that has taken over my body.  Apparently it was a reaction to the tape I had on my back and arm during the delivery, if you could see it you would of thought I slept in a bed of poison ivy.  I think, hope, pray this is almost over.

This is the week......

We only have 2 days left until we leave for the hospital, despite our attempts to get this little one to make an earlier appearance :)  Tuesday night we will go to the hospital to start the induction process.

Our last weekend as a family of 2 was uneventful.  I have finished my nesting, I have cleaned almost the entire house, with just a few areas of clutter that could still be put away.  We had a few plans for just the 2 of us this weekend but those quickly changed after Dave went to play basketball and threw his back out trying to keep up with the kiddos at Lifetime on Saturday morning.  We spent most of the weekend sitting on the couch watching the playoffs.....GO MAVS!!!  Luckily, he is already feelin' a bit better so by Wednesday he might not by 100% but he will be better off than he was this weekend.

Say a little prayer for us as our emotions are a combination of anxiety and happiness.  I can not wait until Wednesday when we are holding little Addie in our arms after months of waiting.
