4 short months

Sweet little Addie is now 4 months old!  I can’t believe how time has already flown by.  It’s so crazy to think a year ago we had just found out we were going to have our precious little one.

These days she is all smiles and drool.  She has an awesome temperament, her fussy times are usually limited to her tired times (there definitely are some exceptions).  Addie is extremely active, she has been rolling over for 3 weeks now, she loves to sit up and she is dying to be able to crawl, walk, whatever, she wants to be on the move.  She has recently started to laugh which is so funny to us, sometimes she just laughs at us for no reason, it is super cute.  We are still not sleeping through the nights which can make for long days at work, there is about a 50/50 chance that she will sleep 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, other nights she is usually up around 3:00 AM for a snack.

Today we had her 4 month appointment, both Dave and I were anxious over the shots as the last 2 times were not pleasant at all.  After a great check up the dreaded nurses came in to administer her shots….we were both taking a deep breath to prepare and literally not one stinkin’ tear.  We both were staring at her, like are you sure, you just got 2 shots and nothing…..PHEW!

Here are her stats from today….

17.7 lbs (she has now gained 10 lbs since birth) 97 percentile

25.5 inches long        87 percentile

Yep…we love to sit up all of the time now.  We are still a little wobbly but she is gaining on her balance on a daily basis.  I can’t believe how much she changes these days…..RIDIC-U-LOUS!!

Like Mother…Like Daughter….

Dave caught both of us dozing off on our most recent trip to Childress…..yes he took both pictures while he was driving.

I’m a Model

Okay, well maybe she’s not a model, but she looks pretty darn cute if you ask me.

Rolling with my homies……

That’s right, I’m rolling!  I love to roll and can no longer be left alone on high surfaces :)   I also love to tell you about it :)

Addie has always been our squirmy wormy since she was born but this week she has finally figured out how to turn over.  Earlier this week when I went to get her for her 3:00 AM feeding, instead of laying on her tummy she turned over and was so excited to see me come in, despite my exhaustive state I couldn’t help but smile seeing her big smile on her face…it was too cute.

Addie is finding her voice more and more and if you give her the attention she will talk to you for as long as you will give her.  She cracks us up with her inflection in her voice as if she is really trying to tell you a story about her day.

Dave has loved his first 3 weeks home with Addie, he has decided to take off the full 12 weeks before he goes back to work.  I am so grateful for this decision as it will give her more family time before we have to take her to daycare.

We’ve survived

Monday came and went.  Addie was a superstar and slept thru the night on Sunday so I was able to get my 7 hours in before getting ready to work which was awesome.

As usual Dave captured the morning with plenty of pictures and video to remember the event.  He made me an incredible collage of our favorite pics of Addie from the past 3 months which is displayed proudly on my desk.

I get teary eyed when I leave but I know she’s in good hands.  We are all learning our new roles and managing the transition really well.

Here are just a few of my favorite pics from that collage -
