LoveBug is 7 months old!

IMG_9124_v2

Stop!  Seriously stop!  Stop growing so fast.  I can not believe that my little LoveBug is 7 months old.  CRAZY!

In this last month Addie has become so mobile.  She easily pulls herself up on pretty much any object.  She is able to take a couple of steps while she holds on to the chair, crib, couch, whatever.  One of her favorite toys is her rollarchair thingy.  She LOVES to be on the go on her own.

Addie has 2 teeth.  Her 2 bottom teeth came popping through this month.  You have to be careful when she grabs your fingers…those chompers will hurt!

She loves food, loves it!  We haven’t found anything that she doesn’t enjoy.  Granny bought her some num-nums this weekend, and she devours them!  Finally something that looks like real food to her.  She loves her sippy cup.

Loves to hear herself speak.  Night time is her most vocal time, she loves to carry on and on.  It is also her most giggly time, sometimes just a funny face will make her fall over from laughter.  Her little laugh is my most favorite sound in the world.

For the most part Addie is still very easy going.  She does experience some separation anxiety.  Guys seem to concern her more than ladies.  It takes her a little bit to warm up to new people, she takes after her mom in that way : )

I love this little Lovebug and am so incredibly thankful for these 7 great months.

Hoppy Halloween

Addie’s first Halloween was a fun filled weekend.   The weekend started off with a visit to my office to complete my costume.

Dave is in costume as well…he doesn’t wear denim shirts everyday :)

Friday night we were invited to a Brew-ha-ha and it was a great party.  We were the only ones there with a little one, but she didn’t make a peep.  I think she was trying to understand what was going around her.

Saturday was a whirlwind as we had a little neighborhood get together before the trick or treaters hit the streets.  The Smith’s came by with sweet Lola who is 2.5 months older.  Addie was a little over the whole dress up thing by now and wanted to get to bed in a hurry, but she put up with us before her bedtime.

Addie liked Lola’s costume…she seemed to feel a little silly as a bunny next to the cute little Hawaiian girl.  Since we were fading fast there was no luck getting a picture sans paci at this time of night.

Overall it was a fun Halloween, we look forward to next year!

Stop growing so fast!!!

A few days ago little Addie turned 6 months old.

A couple of weeks ago I posted that she was starting to crawl, she is now an official crawler, she is all over the place.  Here she is on the move…..

P1150222

We have just started her on baby food after being cereal for a little over  a month.  So far we have tried green beans and they give her terrible gas so we are anxious to try something else.

The Dr told us today that she believes she is cutting her first tooth.   She took her (3) shots today again with nothing more than a little whimper.  Here are her stats from today  -

Weight 19.4 lbs   93 Percentile

Height 27.25        91 Percentile

She is growing up so fast and I can’t believe how many changes come with every day, week and month.

Tonight she surprised us by pulling herself up to a standing position on her own….she will be walking before we know it.

Another whirlwind trip to Childress

We took another fun road trip to Childress for the weekend to meet the newest Seal, Kendall.  She is just as cute as can be and so far a well mannered 1 week old :)

We got off to a bright and early start on Saturday morning in the hopes that little Addie sleep the majority of the trip.  That theory kind of worked but we still had about 30 minutes of whining in the back seat before we made it to our destination.  Once we were there it was a good trip to see everyone.  Saturday night was an adventure as Addie was in no mood to sleep in her pack & play, she finally fell asleep at 11, only to be awake at 1 and then again at 6.  She slept next to me in bed that night, it was not a restful night to say the least.  Oh and by the way she punched me in the nose that night and she gave me a bloody nose….that girl is crazy strong.

We turned right back around and were on the road again on Sunday afternoon.  Our 4 hour trip lasted FOR.EV.ER.  Addie had been awake from 9 to 2, a time in which she had usually taken 2 naps by now so we were FOR SURE thinking she would sleep right on through this road trip…WRONG.  Addie slept for about 30 minutes followed by 2 hours of crying….RI.DIC.U.LOUS.

It was good to see everyone, here are a few pics from the weekend.

This picture just cracked me up…the chaos of trying to get the boys together with all of their daughters born this year.  That’s not a flying dog, just a dog we are holding up to try to get the little one’s attention.

That’s a little better….

Baby Gates here we come….

Addie is soooo close to officially crawling.  She will move her arms back and forth and her little chubby legs kick back and forth to move herself forward.

The cell phone is in her sight…..

Sleep, Sleep, Glorious Sleep

Not being woken up by a crying baby is an amazing feeling.  AMAZING.  First let me say that I have never been one who loves to sleep or will sleep for long periods of time, that has always been left up to my brothers.  I have always functioned well on not too much sleep, 6-7 hours or so.  The adjustment of sleeping in 3 to 4 hour segments wasn’t terrible but it became exhausting when you NEVER HAD A NIGHT OFF for 5 straight months.   I was going a bit crazy to put it lightly.

We decided to start Addie on cereal and drum roll please….it worked!!  For almost 2 weeks now she has slept for 12 to 13 hours straight.

Life is so much easier being able to go to bed and get up on your own accord.

Random cute thing….these days if you make the humming sound before giving Addie a kiss she tries to find your face and give you a big slobbery big one all over your face.  It is ADORABLE.

Things I don’t want to forget……

This week little Addie turned 5 months old.  As much as time flies, it is so amazing how much she changes on a daily\weekly\monthly basis.  As another month passes us by, I just don’t want to forget about some of these things -

*She stretches her belly out as much as possible after you take her diaper off.  This is her way of telling you her diaper is WAY too constricting.  After stretching she proceeds with moving her arms and legs back and forth as much as possible to take advantage of her naked freedom.

*She is a little dare devil.  She laughs at hanging upside down and being thrown up in the air.

*She is TICKLISH, she guarantees to laugh if you tickle her sides, feet, under her chin…it is ADORABLE.

*She can be entertained for hours laying on her blanket and playing with empty plastic bottles – there really is no need for toys.

*In the last month she has entertained herself with her taking out her paci and chewing on all sides of it…she is most content when putting almost anything in her mouth (remote, books, toys, etc)

*Has been a little night owl up until a couple of days ago (hope I am not jinxing myself by typing this).

*99% of the time she wakes up in a good mood, half of the time you don’t even know she is awake unless you see her in her monitor playing with her toes or paci.

*When she sees you come into her room after a nap, she does a coordinated dance like thing where she moves her legs up and down and her arms the same in a coordinated movement…kind of hard to explain, but it’s pretty cute.

*HATES, HATES, HATES getting dressed most of the time, she will scream until she is red in the face sometimes, it is quite dramatic.

*She’s a chatter box but only around Dave and I, she tends to be shy in front of new people.

*She loves her reading time, she helps you turn the pages with her toes or hands.

*She has yet to poop, pee or spit up on Dave and yet it is almost a daily occurrence on me, and I don’t feel special because of it.

These are just a few of my favorite memories in the last month.
