Adeline Elizabeth Seal

It's been 1 week...yep, little bit has been with us for 1 whole week.

Rewind to a week ago, we entered the hospital on Tuesday night at 5:00.  1 hour later the medicine starts and the contractions are present, woohooo....this shouldn't take long.  Well, next morning...no changes, start the second medicine.  Okay, seriously, by lunch we should have this show on the road, right?!?!  Lunch time comes around and the doc comes by, no changes...really, none?  Addie's heartbeat had been dropping during the contractions since the night before so I had been stuck in the bed with very limited movement.  By this time my hips and back were starting to hurt from laying in the oh so comfortable hospital bed for so long.  By 4:00, we were all getting anxious so the doc came back and broke my water....FINALLY there were going to be some changes, at least that was the plan.  The contractions picked up a notch and staying still in bed was getting a little more difficult as I just wanted to at least stand up.  By 7:00, I couldn't take it anymore and asked for the epidural after 25 hours of contractions laying in that bed.  Close to midnight it was time to start pushing, well at least they thought that it was.  It took over 2 hours with a short break in there somewhere but after 32 hours of labor little Adeline Elizabeth made her grand appearance.    I had no sense of time (luckily) once we started pushing so when they announced her time of birth I was shocked.

We have been home and have plenty of help and visitors.  Everything has been going great.  Addie is an awesome sleeper and eater.   She is such a joy and we have loved every minute of it....so far :)

The ONLY complaint for the first week is the flesh eating rash that has taken over my body.  Apparently it was a reaction to the tape I had on my back and arm during the delivery, if you could see it you would of thought I slept in a bed of poison ivy.  I think, hope, pray this is almost over.

  1. ...Kate SO glad to finally hear the birth story all in one. Drew is not great at details. I totally agree with you about the bed making it much much more difficult and painful!

I cannot wait to meet the little sweetie and I hope the rash is over soon.
